What should I bring with me to the consultation?

  • A valid referral from a doctor is essential.
  • Any relevant investigations.
  • A list of current medications.
  • A relative or next of kin.
  • Any relevant information from other doctors/specialists.
  • Please remember to wear appropriate clothing, as it will often be necessary to remove them for clinical examination.

Will health insurance cover the cost of the consultation?

Health insurance does not rebate out-of-hospital consultations. However a Medicare rebate does apply (you must have a valid referral), that can be submitted online directly to Medicare for you on the day of the consultation.

Is there an out-of-pocket cost to see Mr Ling?

Yes there is an out-of-pocket cost to see Mr Ling. Please call for further information. Discounted rates are available for patients with a Pensioner card. Payment is expected on the day of the consultation.

Does Mr Ling see uninsured patients?

Yes Mr Ling is able to see uninsured patients. A consultation fee applies as usual. Uninsured patients can be offered a place on the waiting list at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.
